Initiative on Improving Capabilities for Detecting and Interdicting Terrorist Travel through Enhanced Terrorist Screening and Information Sharing Third Regional Workshop

13-14 June 2019

The meeting, focusing on experiences of East and West Africa, was attended by 59 participants representing 23 countries and three multilateral organizations. The objective of the Terrorist Travel Initiative is to develop Good Practices to enable countries and organizations to build broader and more efficient watchlists and terrorist screening infrastructures. These Good Practices will serve a companion document to the GCTF Good Practices in the Area of Border Security and Management in the Context of Counterterrorism and Stemming the Flow of "Foreign Terrorist Fighters". It is anticipated that the Good Practices will be presented for endorsement at the GCTF Ministerial Plenary Meeting in September 2019.
