Criminal Justice Responses: Terrorism, Transnational Organized Crimes & International Crimes

10-11 February 2021

Nigeria and Switzerland, Co-Chairs of the Criminal Justice and Rule of Law (CJ-ROL) Working Group, organized the second virtual expert meeting under their initiative to explore how criminal justice approaches the connection between terrorism, transnational organized crimes, and international crimes. The meeting focused on war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

The first meeting took place in November 2020, during which participants considered criminal justice approaches to the connection between terrorism and sexual and gender-based violence, human trafficking, and migrant smuggling.

This initiative is developing policy and operational guidance on criminal justice response to the linkages between terrorism, transnational organized crime, and international crime.
