The Global Counterterrorism Forum (GCTF) is an international forum of 29 countries and the European Union with an overarching mission of reducing the vulnerability of people worldwide to terrorism by preventing, combating, and prosecuting terrorist acts and countering incitement and recruitment to terrorism.

Our forum brings together experts and practitioners from countries and regions around the world to share experiences and expertise, and develop tools and strategies on how to counter the evolving terrorist threat. The GCTF is Co-Chaired by Morocco and the Netherlands.

Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Working Group Eighth Plenary Meeting

VALLETTA – Malta - The Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Working Group Co-Chairs, Australia and Indonesia, organized the Eighth CVE Working Group Plenary Meeting at the International Institute for Justice and the Rule of Law (IIJ), in Valletta on 17 November 2017. The meeting provided participants with an overview of the Working Group’s key achievements in CVE, as well as with the opportunity to discuss the future activities. In addition, participants engaged in a scenario-based discussion and participated in a table top exercise aimed at analysing a threat situation and devising adequate CVE-responses based on a selection of GCTF-developed tools.
