GCTF Initiative on Preparedness and Response to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Emergencies Caused by Acts of Terrorism

The GCTF Initiative on Preparedness and Response to Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Emergencies Caused by Acts of Terrorism seeks to raise awareness and strengthen international cooperation in responding to terrorist acts involving CBRN. Led by Morocco and Spain, the Initiative will address crucial concerns around the threat of CBRN terrorism at both local and state levels.

The convergence of terrorism and the potential misuse of CBRN materials responds to international obligations, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540, among other counterterrorism conventions and security instruments. The Leads, in coordination with other states and multilateral international organizations, will bring together decision-makers, security practitioners, technical experts, and researchers to ensure that appropriate preparedness and response measures are integrated into national and international counterterrorism strategies.
