Having carried out exclusively virtual activities for several years, the GCTF Co-Chairs Canada and Morocco hosted a Ministerial Plenary Meeting in New York once again. GCTF Members and close partners came together to underline their commitment and ongoing support for this informal and inclusive multilateral counterterrorism platform. Ministers and senior officials from GCTF Members underlined that investing in the Forum and its work leads to concrete outcomes and clear results. They emphasized that advancing the overall strategic direction and participating in the regular activities of the Forum are valuable contributions to global efforts in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism conducive to terrorism.
The Forum’s close partners—the GCTF Inspired Institutions (GCERF, Hedayah, and the IIJ) and the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Coordination Compact—also participated in the Ministerial Plenary, demonstrating the value-added of these relationships and the collective determination to grow this collaboration.
