GCTF Initiatives 2020 - 2021

In 2020-2021, the GCTF launched one Initiative on Ensuring Implementation of Countering the Financing of Terrorism Measures While Safeguarding Civic Space, co-led by the Netherlands, Morocco and the United Nations. As a result, GCTF Members endorsed the following Framework Document at the Eleventh Ministerial Plenary Meeting:

Other multi-year Initiatives launched in 2019 came to an end with the endorsement and presentation of their respective output documents.

• Under the auspices of the Criminal Justice and Rule of Law Working Group the Criminal Justice Responses to the Linkages Between Terrorism Transnational Organized Crimes and International Crimes Initiative resulted in the endorsement of the Memorandum on Criminal Justice Approaches to the Linkages between Terrorism and Core International Crimes, Sexual and Gender-based Violence Crimes, Human Trafficking, Migrant Smuggling, Slavery, and Crimes against Children | Arabic | French
• Led by the United States, the Maritime Security and Terrorist Travel Initiative resulted in the endorsement of the Addendum to the GCTF New York Memorandum on Good Practices for Interdicting Terrorist Travel.
• Co-led by the United States and the United Nations, the Watchlisting Guidance Manual Initiative resulted in the presentation of the Counterterrorism Watchlisting Toolkit to the Nineteenth GCTF Coordinating Committee Meeting. This toolkit was developed to operationalize the New York Memorandum on Good Practices for Interdicting Terrorist Travel.
